TQM adalah inisiatif perbaikan proses kerja, melalui peningkatan kinerja secara berkelanjutan (continues improvement), salah satunya melalui peningkatan efisiensi. Dengan proses kerja yang lebih efisien, penggunaan resources (yang merupakan pengorbanan, baik waktu, material, human, maupun lainnya) dapat dihemat. Sehingga biaya penggunaan sumber daya lebih sedikit (kecil).

Siang Pak,
Pak saya mahasiswa bapak di kelas SIM & SIA Maksi.
Saya sedang mencari tau tentang Total Quality Management pak.
slide bapak ada membahas mengenai TQM, nah saya ingin bertanya pak, mengapa TQM dikatakan mampu menekan biaya sedangkan di satu sisi ada yang mengatakan bahwa barang yang berkualitas itu pasti membutuhkan biaya yang tinggi/mahal, kualitas ini maksud saya lebih ke proses dan infrastruktur yang ada pak.
jadi bagaimana ya pak? mohon pencerahannya pak.
